The inspiration for this design is the Black Moon Clan, a group of antagonists from the Black Moon arc in Sailor Moon R (manga and anime). Originating from the planet Nemesis, led by Prince Demande and manipulated by Wiseman, they seek to destroy Crystal Tokyo and seize the Silver Crystal. They use the Black Crystal's power to travel back in time and attack Sailor Moon and her allies, pursuing Chibiusa. Their members include the Ayakashi siblings, Esmeraude, Rubeus, and Saphir, marked by an inverted black moon.
